Spesific Description |
Body oblong and compressed. Dorsal profile convex., ventral profile flat up to base of anal fin. Snout obtuse and nearly equal to eye diameter. Large, terminal and slightly protractile mouth with thick lips. Long villiform teeth in both jaws with canine teeth in anterior part of jaw. Preoperculum denticulated with a deep concavity or notch at lower part, interopercular knob long and fitting into it. Operculum with pointed flap. Pectoral fin falcate nearly reaching the lateral line. Spinious dorsal higher than soft dorsal. There are 5 blue longitudinal stripes, 4 orginating from behind the eye and another originating from cheek below eye. A dark round blotch as big as eye below dorsal fin base where spines and soft rays meet and just above lateral line. Lower portion of the dark blotch meets the lateral line. Dorsal fin with black margin . Other fins yellowish. Dept range 2-40 m |
