Dorsal surface grey; ventral surface pale; an indistinct pale stripe on each flank. The body is predominantly grey with a pale to white underside. Juveniles have black tips(particularly the caudal, pectoral, second dorsal and anal fins); upper caudal fin with a thin dusky posterior margin which fade with age. |

Snout short and blunt. Labial furrows short and insconspicuous. Eyes small. Upper teeth erect to slightly oblique, broadly triangular, serrated; lower teeth similar but more slender. Viviparous. Gives birth to litter of up to 13 young. Size born 56-81 cm. Dept range 1-152 m, usually 1-30 m |
