Body Color | Head and body pale greyish brown with 5 dark brown bars on the body and 1 on nape. Scattered pale spots may be present on body and some faint small brown spots are often on the edged of the dark bars. Spesific Description | Body oblong and compressed. Snout pointed and about equal to eye diameter. Large, terminal mouth with thick lips. Long villiform teeth in both jaws and palatines, with a few canine teeth at anterior part of both jaws. Lower jaw prominent. Maxilla reaching just slightly beyond eye. Vertical preopercular margin finely serrated, with 2 spines at lower angle. Operculum with 3 flat spines, 2nd being largest. Lateral line arch nearly running parallel to dorsal profile. Dorsal and anal fins with scaly basal sheath. Pectoral fin tip rounded and longer than pelvic fin. Pelvic fin connected to abdomen by membrane. Caudal fin rounded. Dept range 10-80 m |
